Description
A striking abstract composition that captures the silhouette of a bustling city skyline in an impressionistic and emotive style. Using a palette dominated by rich golds, deep teal and muted greys, the piece evokes both grandeur and nostalgia. The textured surface, built up with layers of gesso paste and metallic foil, gives the painting a tactile and dimensional quality. The golden skyline flats across the middle of the canvas, appearing to hover above a reflective surface or misty atmosphere, symbolizing both the permanence and transience of urban life. Flecks and strokes of colour break through the surface, hinting at the vibrancy and chaos that exist within the city’s core. The abstract treatment invites viewers to interpret the cityscape through their own lens – whether as a place of ambition, memory or transformation. Overall, this artwork speaks to the enduring pulse of human civilization and the quiet stories that echo through its skyline.
